Study at CSPO

The Course Offered at CSPO

This excellent and long-established three-year course is based upon ISPO (International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics) recommendations and includes subjects necessary to developing well-rounded health professionals.

The semester starts at the beginning of October and ends in September every year, with students complete 5,000 hours of study over the three-year duration of the course. In the final year, students have 1,000 hours of work with disabled people under the supervision of lecturing staff.

Students will have a range of written and practical and oral exams. A representative of ISPO participates in the examination board for the final examinations. We offer small class sizes with only 12 – 14 students each year.

All classes are given in English with subjects including:

• Prosthetic care (assessment, production, fitting, training).

• Orthotic care (assessment, production, fitting, training).

• Anatomy, Biomechanics, Biology, Mathematics, etc.

• Psychology including communication and client management skills.

Clinical Experience

The course at CSPO excels in equipping students with the clinical experience required for becoming Prothetists Orthotists. The Rehabilitation Clinic at CSPO provides significant opportunity to meet clients, assessing needs and delivering solutions first hand. During the course, students will work with a range of ages and disabilities. In the final year, students have 1,000 hours of work with disabled people in our rehabilitation centre, under the supervision of lecturing staff.
